While this deposit agreement is a private step, remember that to finalize the vehicle transfer later, you will need to compile the following:

The original "Permiso de Circulación" (Vehicle Registration Document).
A copy of the "Ficha Técnica" (Vehicle Inspection Card/ITV).
Proof of payment of the "Impuesto de Vehículos de Tracción Mecánica" (IVTM) corresponding to the previous year.
A copy of the buyer’s and seller’s DNI/NIE.
The final "Contrato de Compraventa" signed by both parties.

Expert Tip: Never hand over the keys or the documentation until you have received the full payment. If you are the buyer, verify the vehicle's status through a "Informe de Vehículo" from the DGT website to ensure there are no "embargos" (liens) or "precintos" (seizures) attached to the car before handing over your deposit money.
