How to Request a European Certificate of Conformity (COC) in Almonacid De Zorita: Downloadable Template

If you have imported a vehicle into Spain or are looking to register a foreign car in Almonacid De Zorita, you will inevitably encounter the requirement for a Certificate of Conformity (COC). The COC is an official document issued by the vehicle manufacturer that certifies the vehicle meets European Union technical standards. Without this document, the Spanish Traffic Department (DGT) and the ITV (Technical Inspection of Vehicles) station will not be able to process your registration or verify your vehicle's specifications. This template will help you formally request this document from the manufacturer’s representative in Spain.

Expert Tip: Always keep a digital scan of your signed request and the postal tracking receipt. Manufacturers often charge a fee for issuing duplicate COCs, which can range from 100€ to 300€. If the manufacturer claims they cannot issue a COC because the vehicle is too old or was manufactured outside the EU, you will need to request a "Ficha Técnica Reducida" from an industrial engineer, which is a valid alternative for passing the ITV in Spain. Always verify with your local ITV inspector before paying for expensive documentation.
