How to Notify the Arbo Town Hall of a Vehicle Sale: Downloadable Template (Word/PDF)

When you sell a vehicle in Spain, it is not enough to simply sign a contract with the buyer. To avoid future tax liabilities, such as the IVTM (Impuesto sobre Vehículos de Tracción Mecánica), you must formally notify the local Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) of the change in ownership. This template provides the necessary legal structure to officially inform the Arbo Town Hall that you are no longer the owner of the vehicle, protecting you from future tax demands.

Instructions on how and where to submit it in Arbo

Once you have filled out the document below, you must present it to the Arbo Town Hall (Concello de Arbo). You have two main ways to submit this:

Additional documentation required

To ensure your request is processed without delays by the Arbo municipal authorities, you should attach the following documents to your notification:

Expert Tip: Always request a "sello de entrada" (receipt stamp) when submitting your physical document at the registry office. This document serves as your legal proof that you notified the town hall of the sale. Keep this copy indefinitely, as it is your primary defense if the Town Hall mistakenly attempts to collect the IVTM tax from you in future fiscal years.
