To ensure the process goes smoothly at the ITV station, the person going on your behalf must bring the following items:

Original Vehicle Documentation: The "Permiso de Circulación" (Registration Certificate) and the "Tarjeta de Inspección Técnica" (the technical sheet, usually green).
Valid ID: The authorized person must present their own original DNI, NIE, or Passport.
The Authorization Document: A printed and signed copy of the template provided above.
Proof of Insurance: It is highly recommended to bring proof of valid insurance, as the station may verify that the vehicle is covered.

Expert Tip: Always verify that your vehicle's insurance is paid up-to-date, as the ITV station will check the "Fichero Informativo de Vehículos Asegurados" (FIVA) database. If the insurance is not registered in the system, the inspection may be rejected regardless of who brings the car. Also, ensure the authorized person has the keys to the vehicle and knows how to operate the lights, bonnet, and seatbelts, as they will be asked to assist the inspector during the check.
